Protect Your Home: The Urgency of Calling Foundation Repair Experts Like H2O Proof After Water Intrusion in Your Basement or Crawl Space

Foundation-Repair-After-Water-Intrusion-in-Your-Basement-or-Crawl-Space

If you’re like most families in metro Atlanta, your home is your largest investment. That’s why it’s so important to protect your home with regular maintenance and basement water damage repair when needed. You may not be aware of the signs of water damage to your crawl space, but the expert team at H2O Proof & Foundation Repair knows where to look, what to look for, and which water intrusion solutions to recommend that best suit your property.

Preserving Structural Integrity

Rain is common in Georgia thanks to our state’s humid subtropical climate. When rain is particularly abundant, flash flooding, which causes an excess of water in a short time, may occur. That flooding may lead to small amounts of standing water in your yard and then find its way into very small cracks or spaces in your basement’s foundation. Over time, this can lead to structural issues that can adversely affect the entire structure of your home and cost you tens of thousands of dollars.

When you seek the help of foundation repair experts like our team at H2O Proof, we can inspect your home’s foundation at no cost to you to give you peace of mind that your foundation is in good shape or provide recommendations on how to prevent potential damage. One way we can do that is by waterproofing your basement or crawl space before any issues can arise. This is an ideal option for those considering finishing a basement space.

Preventing Mold and Mildew Growth

The only way to prevent mold and mildew growth is with proper waterproofing of your foundation and basement or crawl space and appropriate drainage systems in your yard. Georgia has a climate with a lot of rain and the soil is porous, so it is easy for water to travel. H2O Proof & Foundation Repair has more than 30 years of hands-on experience and understands how to customize water intrusion solutions for your home and property to prevent water damage that leads to mold and mildew growth.

Mitigating Health Risks

Signs of basement water damage are important to recognize. Some things to look out for are unpleasant smells, moldy drywall, pest infestations, higher-than-usual energy bills, growing stains on concrete, sagging floorboards, and – the most obvious – standing water. If you notice any of these, it’s crucial to seek expert advice on water intrusion solutions since a water-damaged basement can breed mold and mildew; breathing in those spores can cause serious health concerns and endanger your family. Pests can also carry diseases that you don’t want in your home.

Shannon “Red” Logan

OWNER

Red is a hands-on leader with more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry. Born and raised in Acworth, he is an amazing example of a Georgia boy who grew from the ground up in construction. Red landed his first job at 15 as a block mason’s assistant – carrying blocks and helping to build foundations. By 17, he was building homes side by side with his father – a job he enjoyed for 12 years. He also spent four years as a fabricator in a machine shop. By 29, he went to work for Eric’s father at H2O Proof & Foundation Repair.

During his time here, Red has learned everything there is to know about both pre- and post-construction waterproofing. His experience as a fabricator has also proved invaluable. Thanks to his understanding of the fabrication of components for structural lifting, we brought fabrication in-house at H2O – which has led to cost savings for our clients. Not only is he an excellent asset to our company, but also to the residential and business clients we serve.

Eric Collett

OWNER

From the age of 10, this second-generation waterproofer from Cumming, GA virtually grew up in the foundation business. His father, Rick Collett, launched H2O Proof & Foundation Repair in 2004. Every chance he got, Eric would follow his father to job sites, and – as he got older – would help the crew repair foundation walls and waterproof to earn pocket money. After graduating from South Forsyth High School, he began working in the family business full-time – believing that hands-on experience is the best education you can receive in this industry. After being in the field for eight years, Eric transitioned to a project management role where he oversaw crews, analyzed issues, and proposed solutions on a wide variety of pre-and post-construction waterproofing and foundation repair jobs. His project expertise ranged from homeowners having foundation issues and investors flipping homes to commercial developers and builders of new construction homes.

Boasting nearly 25 years of experience in structural lifting and foundation repairs, Eric has also been trained and certified on the restoration side of the industry. He is proud of the fact that the company his dad launched, and Eric continues to grow today has helped everyone from families to large corporations all over the Southeast stay dry and safe in their homes and businesses. He credits the fact that his company is based on its own firm foundation of long-standing relationships, industry knowledge, and unwavering integrity for H2O Proof & Foundation Repair’s success.
